Fields of interest: protein sequence and structural bioinformatics, comparative protein modeling, protein-DNA interaction, molecular mechanisms of DNA replication, recombination and repair.

Awards: recipient of the Lithuanian Science Prize (2009), Lithuanian State scholarship for outstanding senior scientists (2005), Biology & Biotechnology Research Program Achievement Award, Lawrence Livermore Natl. Laboratory (1999).

Other achievements: HHMI International Scholar (2001-2010), best results in the template based modeling category in the worldwide CASP8 competition (2008).
